Major Performance Enhancements


This release has some major performance enhancements:

  • All meshes in the MeshLibrary now use the same material.
  • All GUI icons (spells, gear, potions, etc.) now use a AtlasTexture, greatly reducing the draw calls.
  • Temporarily removed outline and shadows from all text labels.  There is a significant  performance bug in Godot 4.3/4.4 that greatly impacts performance on labels that use shadows and/or outlines.  Godot 4.5 will fix the issue.  See my video for more information: 
  • Improved A* Pathfinding solution.  See my video: 
  • In addition, the size of the build has been reduced by 100MB!  The game should load much faster now.
